The Crew and Creative Team of Hockey: The Musical!
Rick Wilson (Writer/Composer/Director/Producer) (L) is also an actor and educator
who received his education at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, the Webber
Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London, and Queens College in New York
(where he was awarded the English Faculty Award for Playwriting).   His writing
credits include his plays
Ascension, A-, and Johnny Angel, and other works include
Beach Club and Other Stories.   Current musicals in progress include King David:
the story of David and Jonathan,
and  Pirates! The Musical!.  Rick has music
directed over thirty shows, and composed music for numerous theatrical
productions, including
Hamlet (The Classical Theatre Company of New York),  The
Eye of God
(Yale Cabaret), Our Town, Little Women, and The Crucible (The
Wheatley Theatre Company),
Come Out to Play and Poor Tom (Chanticleer
Theatre, London). Rick performs regularly with the Broadhollow Theatre Company
in New York where his recent credits include King Arthur in Camelot, Doolittle in My
Fair Lady, and David in To Gillian on her 37th Birthday.  He was awarded
“Distinguished Educator 2008” by the Harvard Club of Long Island and is a tenured
teacher of English (and past PTO Teacher of the Year award winner) at The
Wheatley School in Old Westbury, New York.  Rick sends his thanks to all who love
him, especially Chris, and all the daily support it has taken to get this stellar team to
the ice here in Toronto. We love you Toronto!
Sandra Crljenica (Assistant Stage Manager) has recently completed her BFA at York University, double majoring in
Theatre Production as well as Creative Ensemble. Recent credits include: Assistant Stage Manager,

(Shakespeare in Action, directed by Michael Kelly), Stage Manager, Anton Volchenkov
(playground Festival, directed by Victoria Kucher), Stage Manager,

Three Sisters (York Graduate Unmounted Production, directed by
Michele Lonsdale-Smith). Sandra is both honoured and excited to be working on
Hockey: The Musical!
Jessica Stinson (Assistant Stage Manager) is a graduate of York University’s Theatre program with a double
specialization in Theatre Studies (Creative Ensemble) and Production. Her selected Theatre@York credits include
Stage Manager for
Rhinoceros directed by Madd Harold, and Assistant Stage Manager for the North American
premiere of Elias Canetti’s
Comedy of Vanity directed by Ines Buchli. Selected credits outside of York include
Assistant Stage Manager of
Not Long Now directed by Diana LeBlanc and Apprentice Stage Manager for
Shakespeare in Action’s
Mask and Madness in Macbeth. Currently, along with her position as Apprentice Stage
Manager for Driftwood Theatre Group’s production of
Romeo and Juliet, Jessica is pleased to join the Hockey: The
Musical!
team as an Assistant Stage Manager.
Sarah Gillis (Lighting Designer/ASM) recently completed Humber College’s Theatre Production Program, after
receiving her BA from Brock University in English and Dramatic Arts. Sarah is delighted to be part of
Hockey: The
Musical!
and couldn’t imagine a better team to be part of her first experience with Toronto Fringe. Sarah most
recently assisted Magi Oman, on the Judith Thompson directed play
Body & Soul, which was performed to sold out
dates at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts. Some of her favourite recent experiences include: Assistant Set
& Lighting Designer,
A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Theatre Humber, designer Magi Oman); and Lighting Designer,
Tribute (Studio 113). Sarah would like to thank the unwavering support of Jeff, without whom, this wouldn’t be
possible.
Justin DeMarco (Writer) (R) is studying journalism at Emerson College in Boston, MA with a focus on sports journalism. This summer he will not only have
a musical premiering in Toronto, but he will also be in China covering the 2008 Olympic Games. Justin was once a student of Rick Wilson, where one day
in class this project incidentally found its inspiration. Justin is also an avid hockey player himself.
